New footbridge for Food Museum

One of our ongoing projects for The Food Museum at Stowmarket is a particularly interesting job. To construct a footbridge that will, for the first time, open up its beautiful Grade II Fishing Lodge to its visitors.

The bridge will be constructed in oak by our bespoke joinery workshop. Interestingly, it will be built upside down at the workshop before being dismantled and assembled on-site. At the time of writing, the timber has arrived at our yard while at the museum, floating pontoons are in place ready to install the piles to support the bridge.

The bridge is designed by Jon Pattle (Architect and museum volunteer) with Modece Architects and structural engineers J P Chick & Partners
