Who we are

We are a building company offering new-builds, alterations, extensions, renovations and maintenance for domestic properties, shops, offices and commercial buildings. We are based near Woodbridge and operate throughout Suffolk and North Essex.

Established in 2010 we have a team of more than 65 skilled tradesmen and women. Over the years we have developed great relationships with local architects, structural engineers and first-class sub-contractors, enabling us to provide a complete construction package.

Makers as well as Builders

Having a sizable custom joinery division, including design, we are uniquely placed to offer a complete service from breaking ground to the final detailing.

The bespoke windows, doors, cabinetry, and kitchens imagined by our designer and created by the craftsmen in our joinery workshops not only help distinguish our projects from the crowd but also offer a higher-quality outcome for your budget.

Considerate builders

We understand that having work carried out to your property can be an upheaval so we have a committed team to aid you through the process, making it as enjoyable as possible.

Services

How can we help?

Groundwork

Groundwork may not receive the greatest appreciation but it does provide the foundation for everything that follows. You just can’t produce a quality build without accurate and well-founded groundwork.

Our groundwork services include footings, drainage, driveways and pathways.

Construction

From structural carpentry to brick and block-work, the process of building your project from the ground up requires proactive project management. It is the job of our Contract Managers to co-ordinate the various trades to ensure the smooth progression of your project.

They will provide a point of contact for you, solving problems as they arise, liaising with you on choice of materials and fixtures and responding to any queries or concerns you may have.

Interiors

Although attention to detail is crucial at every stage in the building process, it is the interiors which usually attract most attention. Our skilled craftsmen and women understand this and will never be happy with anything less than the best finish possible.

Our interiors work extends from plastering, tiling, decorating and painting to floor finishing and bespoke joinery. We also fit kitchens and other fixtures from your supplier or created in our own joinery workshop.

Hand-built Furniture and Kitchens

It is a point of particular pride for us that, unusually among building contractors, we maintain a fully equipped joinery workshop to produce bespoke carpentry from windows and doors to site-specific furniture and beautifully designed handmade kitchens. This reflects Andrew Stowe’s own passion as an apprentice-served carpenter.

Kind Words

We build great relationships as well as fine buildings.

Andrew Stowe showed a passion for his field, a genuine interest in our project and spent the time to truly understand our plans and aspirations. His knowledge and professionalism gave us immediate confidence.

Trust was a key issue for us as we were moving from London so would have to manage the project remotely. Andy and all his staff repaid our faith in spades. The entire team was courteous, professional and diligent. Communication with Andy was always open and honest. Whenever we hit an inevitable bump in the road it was smoothed out without fuss and with never a hint of compromise to the highest standards of workmanship.

James Vigar [see the project]

We got four quotes for the roof repairs to St. Mary’s, Great Bealings and chose Stowe’s proposal as being the best combination of price and delivery. We were subject to grant funding and thus needed to work with the contractor to fit the cost to the money available. Stowe were very responsive and suggested several work-arounds that allowed us to manage the cost effectively.

The renovation of The Oyster Inn at Butley has been a huge undertaking, and I am so thankful that we were introduced to Stowe Building Contractors. As soon as they became involved, not only did we have a clear budget and timescale but also we gained a fantastic team of support, creative ideas and good humour.

Andrew Stowe provides calm and transparent advice, and the re-opening of the pub on time is thanks to him and his team. They are now converting the pub’s long stretch of barns and they are exactly on time and on budget from a clear 16 week plan. I would highly recommend the team to anyone.

Working with Stowe Building Contractors Ltd was a pleasant experience for everyone. The meetings to discuss the contract were well organised and changes by us were readily accepted.

They were extremely accommodating to patients and practice staff alike. Patient care and safety was a high priority with them as well as trying to deliver on time to minimise any disruption.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company for use within the NHS or any other organisation.
