Extending a single-storey home

We were delighted to help the owner of this single-storey home in Woodbridge realise his own design for this double-height extension with bedroom and bathroom. It was the owner’s first significant building project but close attention to detail from the outset and careful forethought about potential issues ensured that this was a smooth build. The machined timber floors are a particular success complementing the original timber flooring in the existing property.

We had never commissioned major building work before and were apprehensive about the selection process involved in finding a local builder for our extension. Stowe Building Contractors stood out with the initial visit of the director/ owner, Andrew Stowe. He showed a passion for his field, a genuine interest in our project and spent the time to truly understand our plans and aspirations. His knowledge and professionalism gave us immediate confidence. Pricing was competitive and costings transparent throughout the project. The qualities we admired in Andrew were also evident in his employees both in the office and on-site. The building team always arrived on time, were polite, respectful and any questions or issues were attended to promptly and creatively. Construction quality was consistently excellent and the outcome has exceeded our expectations. We are very proud of our new extension and highly recommend Stowe’s to anyone contemplating a similar project.
