Rear extension to improve livability

Demolish existing extension and rebuild to modern standards with level timber floors and beautiful oak windows and doors

Retaining as much of the original structure as possible we completely remodeled this rear extension to modernise the living spaces and make it usable by wheelchair users.

Where a previously awkward layout required access through a conservatory with changes of levels to two bedrooms and an outdated bathroom we were able to create a free flowing space with wide doors and level access throughout and provide a spacious modern bathroom and attractive dining area with a strong connection to the garden.

We fitted bespoke timber doors and windows and beautiful engineered timber floors with underfloor heating to complement the traditional country character of the original building whilst allowing it to exceed modern environmental standards. We timber clad and re-insulated all walls and installed a complex zinc roof with hidden guttering. Three discrete sliding doors allow the spaces to be opened up or snugged down as desired.

Outside, our craftsmen created a beautiful brick patio area in a herringbone pattern.
